Hot Lizard's debut release ‘The Theme’, was originally released on Pacific Records in 1995.

The 12” double vinyl package, came with remixes from Carl Craig, Mark Broom and Love from San Francisco (Charles Webster), and was a massive crossover techno/house record at the time.

Hot Lizard’s original mix, an emotive, rolling deep house, stone cold classic, sounds as relevant and uplifting today as it did then.

Carl Craig’s minimalist re-working of the original, is based on the sound of a human heartbeat - an opening burst of kaleidoscopic synths into a full cosmic workout over the space of 11 glorious minutes.

The Mark Broom mix is an imperious showstopper that framed UK techno at the time and sounding fresh as today.

The Charles Webster/Love from San Francisco mix, is regarded widely as one of the UK’s best Deep House / Tech House remixes of the 90’s.

To quote Harold Heath “I could have chosen from a few Hot Lizard tracks but opted for this 11 minute frankly extraordinary musical excursion from one of my very favourite 90s labels.”

All mixes have been remastered in 2021, and will be available digitally from 20 August 2021 on the newly relaunched
Pacific Records London.
